Feature Request: DS-Lite WAN configuration in reForis
Dual-Stack-Lite is used by for smaller, regional ISPs (e.g. M-Net in Germany) not having huge IPv4 adress blocks to hand out.
@CyberFlamingo added information about the state of DS-Lite in Japan.
With DS-Lite, customers get an IPv6-only link to their ISP. IPv4 traffic is encapsulated in IPv6 and decapsulated and NATed to IPv4 by the ISP.
As migration to IPv6 will continue, those transitional technologies will stay for a good while.
Right now the ReForis interface does not offer the possibility to configure a scenario like DS-Lite.
Users can consult the OpenWRT-Wiki - as of now this does not provide guidance of how to set up DS-Lite via the LuCi interface though, only SSH and config files.
I think it would be a great addition for novice users to be able to get started with their DS-Lite setup quickly, with a well thought through UI.
I can provide screenshots of the AVM FritzBox! Interface as an example. It's a benchmark in providing simple to use UI for complex configurations (just like ReForis
