on every platform should be enough to check for related problems.malloc()
implementation we use. (I tried with tcmalloc, causing memory usage to drop by ~ 15 % and the slight difference between QP and HAT gets reversed.)

is OK on x86_64. Jenkins seems OK, and basic testing on a big-endian machine as well.
