LAN IP lost and replaced by 192.168.1.1 around 2022-10-19
In a customer network built around Turris Shield the device all of a sudden "forgot" it's LAN address and reset to 192.168.1.1/24 for no apparent reason. All other settings (WAN PPPoE PAP/CHAP credentials) remained intact. This caused major problems in the customer's network which has several legacy devices with static IP configuration which relied on the gateway being present on a specific address and subnet (192.168.0.52/24 in this case). After being configured initially about a year ago this has not been a problem and the Shield happily served local clients at the configured LAN address. Now, all of a sudden, the address was set to 192.168.1.1/24 with the obvious effect that devices with statically assigned addresses (printer, pbx, ...) no longer had access to the Internet and were also no longer accessible locally, as all the DHCP-served clients now being in a different subnet (192.168.1.0/24).
We fixed the issue by again setting the correct LAN address on the Shield, and it now again works. However, how can we be sure it doesn't happen again?
