kresctl was not possible to start when installed from packages due to version pinning of dependencies. Also CI tests failed due to missing ps command. This MR fixes all that.
The CI will actually fail without merging in upstream code from master branch. It might be a good idea not to have the merge as part of this MR, but I haven't yet decided how to proceed.
