SSH: /etc/banner: Turris OS
Normally, Turris OS is written with a space between Turris and OS.
Normally, within Turris [OMNIA | MOX], the model name is written in all capital letters.
However, when I log into my device via SSH, I get a customized (nice!) banner which writes: TurrisOS x.x.x, Turris Mox. As a workaround, I simply edited the file /etc/banner myself. However, I see that several other files like
- /etc/device_info (DEVICE_PRODUCT),
- /etc/openwrt_release (DISTRIB_ID, DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION),
- /usr/lib/os-release (NAME, PRETTY_NAME, OPENWRT_DEVICE_PRODUCT, OPENWRT_RELEASE),
face the same issue. I do not know if it is a good idea to fix all of those. This report here (hopefully my very last nitpick) is just about changing the login banner of SSH/busybox. There, changing the product name variable (%P) seems too complicated as well. Therefore at least, what about hardcoding the device name variable (%D) to ‘Turris OS’?
